Inconel high-temperature alloy

Inconel is a high-performance nickel-based superalloy known for its exceptional resistance to high temperatures, oxidation and corrosion. The alloy is primarily composed of nickel (Ni), chromium (Cr) and iron (Fe), making it indispensable in extreme conditions such as high temperatures, pressures and aggressive chemical environments. Unlike ordinary steel, although the melting point of steel may be higher than that of nickel, it will quickly lose strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures; nickel-chromium iron alloys can still maintain excellent mechanical properties in a hot state and form a dense protective oxide layer to effectively resist high-temperature corrosion.

With excellent mechanical strength, thermal stability and durability, Inconel is widely used in aerospace, energy, chemical and marine engineering fields.

Inconel 625 – Inconel High-Temperature Alloy

Inconel 625 (GH3625) is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy solid-solution strengthened with the addition of molybdenum and niobium to improve its strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures. The alloy exhibits excellent oxidation resistance and maintains excellent tensile and fatigue strength from cryogenic temperatures to 980°C. It is also extremely resistant to stress corrosion cracking in salt water environments, making it ideal for extreme industrial applications. Inconel 625 has good processability, weldability and plasticity, ensuring ease of component manufacturing. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What element is Inconel 625 strengthened by? What brand does it correspond to in China?

625 is solid solution strengthened by adding molybdenum 8.0-10.0% and niobium + tantalum 3.15-4.15%. Chromium 20-23%, iron ≤5%, and nickel are the balance. It corresponds to GH3625 in China. The combination of molybdenum and niobium allows it to have both strength and corrosion resistance at high temperatures, with a density of 8.44 g/cm³ and a melting point of 1290-1350°C, which is a high-strength grade within the group.
