CuNi resistance alloy

Copper-nickel alloy (Cu-Ni), often called white copper in China, is mainly composed of copper and nickel, and contains small amounts of iron and manganese. These alloys offer extremely high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, low resistivity, and good thermoelectric properties. They significantly reduce the temperature coefficient of resistance and have mechanical and physical properties superior to most other copper alloys. CuNi alloy has excellent ductility, high hardness, beautiful appearance, excellent corrosion resistance, and supports deep drawing processing, showing good performance at both normal and high temperatures. In addition, they offer excellent machinability, weldability, and are non-magnetic.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is the overall positioning of CuNi30? Which industries are it mainly used in?

The page positions it as a high-nickel copper-nickel alloy: 30% nickel, 1% manganese, with a tensile strength greater than 400MPa. The introduction text clearly points out the two major destinations of “shipbuilding and industrial resistor manufacturing”. The characteristics of white copper’s resistance to seawater and chloride corrosion are more fully reflected in the 30% nickel grade, and it is often requested by the marine and resistor industries.

CuNi23 nickel 23%, resistivity 0.30±5%, maximum 300℃, tensile strength greater than 350MPa; CuNi30 nickel 30%, resistivity 0.35±5%, maximum 350℃, tensile strength greater than 400MPa. If the temperature resistance strength requirement is high, choose CuNi30. CuNi23 is also sufficient for normal working conditions within 300℃.

The outer diameter of the pipe is 3-500mm, the wall thickness is 0.5-50mm, and the length is 1-6m. It supports cutting on demand. The 30% nickel grade has a tensile strength greater than 400MPa and an elongation greater than 25%. Combined with the seawater resistance and biological adhesion resistance of white copper, it is suitable for marine seawater systems and cooling and heat exchange pipelines. Just report the specifications according to the system pressure and flow rate.
